Don Shreve was 2005 Vern Storey Trophy Winner

#130, now #3, was designed and built by Floyd Hughes of Colfax, California. I purchased the car in November, 1992 and thus began a continuing love/ hate relation with my favorite toy. The car originally had a Roof Type A 16 valve OHV head with a rocker arm assembly designed and built by Hughes. I replaced the Roof in 2001 with one of the Rajo Model B OHV heads that were made in Australia several years ago. It originally had dual Weber DCOE9 carburetors. This was far too much carburetion and I have experimented with various carburetors before settling on a single Stromberg 97.

The car has participated in almost all NW Vintage Speedster events since acquiring it in 1992. I look forward to driving #130 in future NWVS events until one or the other of us breaks down. A fun car that is a joy to drive !!!
