Ray Fioresi's Speedster

Ray's speedster had been in storage since the 1950's. After seven months of work, it was ready to run in the 1990 Great American Race. Ray has run it in many hillclimbs and touring events since then.

These pictures were taken in 1998 at the F.A.S.T. hillclimb that was part of the MAFCA National Convention in Reno, Nevada.

A Cragar overhead valve head sits atop the 1928 Model A block. A 1934 Model B crank with Model B rods spins in babbit bearings. The oiling system is stock. It looks like an oil filter has been added. The distributor has been relocated to the front of the engine.
Ray is in the center with the purple shirt on. His speedster is equiped with a "fat man" steering wheel. The wheel hinges upward to make it easier to get in and out of the car. A locking mechanism holds it in place when driving the car.

The picture below was taken of Ray and Lana Brewer as they competed in the Northwest Vintage Speedster 200 mile endurance run in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana in September of 2002.
