Jim Barbee's Speedster

Jim had his speedster on display at the speed equipment workshop in February 2000. The frame is stock Model A. The front axle is 1934 Ford with a reversed-eye spring to lower the car. The car will be powered by a Model B engine with a counterweighted crank.
The body work that is done so far is made up of two cowls from  Rootlieb, Inc. of Turlock, CA. The cowl at the rear of the car has been flattened at the top. Jim will finish the rear of the car with sheet metal he will shape on an English wheel. The radiator grill shell is 1929 Ford with a vertical bar inserted in it.
A 1931 Ford instrument panel will go in the recess in the wood dash. The 1939 transmission has Lincoln-Zephyr 26 tooth gears in it.
