Side Planking Patterns

I think Stripes should be used to accent the natural lines of the car.   
I'll use the three 1/2" planks to add a Dark/Light/Dark stripe along the bottom edge of the hood and edge of the back deck. 

Several Lower Accent Stripes can be considered : (click to enlarge)
2" Bottom Edge 2" Frame Line
Thin 1/2" Frame Line With Triple 1/2" Frame Lines
2" Frame & 3" Bottom 2" Frame & Bottom
Plain Side With Wide Bottom

I like the Triple 1/2" Frame Lines
