Flywheel

The stock Model A Ford Flywheel with ring gear and pilot bearing weighs 64 pounds.

This heavy Flywheel and the 29.5" diameter tires were necessary in the 30's to pull the cars through chuck holes.  This is not needed with modern roads.

Lighter flywheels mean faster acceleration... a quicker, more responsive car.

Several suppliers offer lighter flywheels from 35 to 50 pounds.

I chose a 41 pound flywheel.
